An Innovative Project by PERI 3D Construction

Initiated by KRAUSGRUPPE and brought to life by PERI 3D Construction, the IT Server Hotel is now a central hub for Heidelberg IT Management GmbH & Co. KG. The inauguration ceremony, attended by industry leaders, the city’s first mayor, and media representatives, showcased this significant stride in 3D printed architecture.

The Impact of COBOD’s BOD2 Printer on Future Construction Trends

Central to this architectural feat was the BOD2 printer from COBOD International. Capable of printing at a rate of 4 m2 per hour, this technology was crucial in constructing the building’s substantial area of 600 m2 / 6,600 SF within just 140 hours. The efficiency and adaptability of the BOD2 printer underline the growing capabilities of 3D printing in large-scale construction.

By facilitating the rapid construction of the IT Server Hotel, it has underscored the viability of 3D printing across a broad spectrum of projects, from residential buildings to expansive commercial and industrial structures.

Redefining Design with the ‘Wavehouse’ Facade

The IT Server Hotel’s unique wavy wall facade, conceptualized by SSV Architekten and Mense Korte and named the ‘Wavehouse,’ exemplifies the creative freedom afforded by 3D construction printing. This innovative design, challenging with traditional construction methods, underscores the potential for 3D printing to revolutionize architectural design.

Innovation in Construction

This project not only represents a technological leap but also sets new industry standards. It embodies efficiency, flexibility, and advancement, pointing towards a future of sustainable and uniquely designed structures.

As we celebrate the completion of the IT Server Hotel, we also look forward to the limitless possibilities that lie ahead for innovation, collaboration, and sustainability in construction.
