The BOD2 prints large-scale buildings directly on site​

The BOD2 is the result of years of field experience and continuous engineering improvements. More than 50 units have been delivered and operated worldwide across housing, commercial, public, and infrastructure projects.

How the BOD2 covers the print area

It moves along three axes, X, Y and Z, for full reach across the print area, following a path generated from a digital 3D model and placing material where the model calls for it.

The gantry is modular. Frames are added in fixed increments along each axis, so the same printer scales from a single house to a run of terraced units.

Modular aluminium gantry

The system is a lightweight aluminium truss, assembled on site in 2.5 m (8.2 ft) modules to reach up to 14 m (46 ft) wide, 40 m (131 ft) long and 8.5 m (28 ft) tall. The same four-person crew installs and removes it with a crane.

Produced in Denmark and fully CE certified in compliance with EU machinery regulations.

Concrete printhead

A re-engineered tangential steel nozzle that follows the direction of travel continuously, producing smooth or textured wall finishes directly from the digital model.

Layer width up to 500 mm (19.7 in), layer height up to 75 mm (3 in). Nozzle replaced via quick-release system with no tools required.

Remote operation and control

The printer is operated from any device via WiFi or ethernet through a web-based interface.

Cameras on the printhead provide live visual coverage of the print. The printer also includes a separate surveillance system mounted on the Z-axis columns.

COBOD printers run on locally sourced concrete, not pre-bagged mortar. Use standard ingredients, control your own mix, and avoid being locked into a proprietary material supply chain.

Locally sourced concrete

Print with locally sourced concrete using standard materials and aggregates up to 10 mm (3/8 in). No proprietary mixes. No material lock-in. Typical strength: 30–35 MPa (~4,400-5,100 PSI).

Flexible material supply

Use ready-mix trucks or batch concrete directly on site. COBOD gives you the flexibility to work with local suppliers or control the full mix yourself.
