Abyan 3D printed two large water tanks on-site for Kuwait United Poultry Company in just five days. Standing 4.5 m (14.8 ft) tall with a 7 m (23 ft) diameter, the tanks were printed using low-cost, locally sourced concrete mixed on-site. Rather than traditional steel mesh, the walls were reinforced with macro fibers — applied to a structural 3D printed build for the first time. The wall thickness was tapered from 40 cm at the base to 20 cm at the top, following the actual stress distribution of the structure. Together, these two decisions cut concrete and reinforcement use by 25% compared to conventionally cast tanks.
