Dar Al Arkan
Dar Al Arkan is one of Saudi Arabia's largest real estate developers, specializing in master-planned residential communities. As a COBOD partner, they were among the first developers in the Middle East to adopt construction 3D printing at full residential scale — delivering a three-story villa in Riyadh compliant with local building codes and built entirely from locally sourced concrete.

Dar Al Arkan completed a three-story, 345 m² (3,714 SF) villa in the Shams Al Riyadh development, northwest of Riyadh, using a COBOD BOD2 3D construction printer. The walls were printed in 26 days using low-cost concrete mixed from 99% locally sourced materials via the D.fab solution developed by CEMEX and COBOD. The building was constructed without a protective tent in summer conditions exceeding 40°C, reflecting the team's ability to operate the technology in extreme heat. The villa is fully compliant with Saudi building codes and features smart home systems including automated doors, locks, air conditioning, and lighting, along with nine rooftop solar panels. Heat-reflecting nanotechnology was applied to the exterior walls for additional thermal performance.
In Saudi, we are rapidly developing in the construction sector through our Building Technology Initiative and implementing new technologies to enable 70% of the Saudi population to own their homes by 2030. Our strategy is to revolutionize the way people think about home through smart futuristic methods.
