Havelar

Havelar is Portugal's leading construction 3D printing company, founded in Porto with a mission to make well-designed housing accessible. Since completing Portugal's first 3D printed house in 2024, they have grown into one of Europe's most active COBOD customers, delivering homes and public buildings faster, with fewer people on site, and at a fraction of the cost of conventional construction.

Recycling Center Office

Havelar delivered a 500 m² (5,400 SF) recycling center office for the Municipality of Matosinhos in nine printing days, on budget — a result the project partners described as rare for public works in Portugal. Curved walls throughout the building were produced directly from the digital model at no additional cost.

The main advantage is time. In construction terms, it is a third: a third of the time, a third of the materials, and a third of the people. Here it is not just about the recycling aspect; it is also that we had a team of only four people to construct a building like this.
